Tours for Parents of Prospective Students
Small group tours for parents are given in the
fall and early winter. To schedule a visit, please
call Abigail Levner, Director of Admission
and Financial Aid, at 215-545-5323,
ext. 227. You may apply
to the school before or after the tour (please note that the application deadline for preschool and kindergarten was December 1). We suggest that you try to see the school by mid-January, if
possible. Tours last approximately 90 minutes and enable
parents to see the school "in action."
If You Apply for Preschool
After receiving an application, we will call you
to arrange for a Friday or Saturday morning playday in order to meet your
child. Playdays are held in the winter and last approximately an hour. We invite a small group of children to participate in a "mini-preschool" morning. Please
note that children applying for the "Threes" program must have turned three by February 29, 2008. Children applyng for the "Fours" program must be four by September of the year they enter (i.e., they must have turned four by August 31, 2008.) In addition, all children must be completely
toilet trained before entering preschool.
PRESCHOOL APPLICATION DEADLINE: December 1, 2007
If You Apply for Kindergarten:
After receiving an application, we will contact
you to arrange for a Saturday morning playday in order to meet
your child. Scheduled on a first-come, first-served
basis, playdays are held in the winter months and last
90 minutes; we invite approximately 18 children to participate
in a "mini-kindergarten" day complete with story,
snack, and activity time. Please note that children must
be five years old by August 31st of their kindergarten year.
KINDERGARTEN APPLICATION DEADLINE: December 1, 2007
If You Apply for First through Seventh Grades:
After we receive your application and your child's
school records, we will contact you to arrange for your child
to visit TPS. Applicants for first grade will be scheduled
to visit our kindergarten on two consecutive weekday mornings,
from 8:20 a.m. to noon, during the winter of 2007-2008. Applicants for second through seventh grades spend two consecutive days, from 8:20 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., in
late winter or early spring.
1ST THROUGH 7TH GRADES APPLICATION DEADLINE: recommended by February 15, 2008.
Notification of Acceptance:
Preschool, kindergarten, and first grade acceptance
letters will be mailed in early February 2008 (or at a later
date should space open up). Notification for grades two through
seven usually takes place in early spring. Families who have
applied for financial aid will receive a letter informing
them of any tuition assistance in mid-April.
Parents may wait until March 3, 2008, to let
us know of their decision to accept or decline a place for
their child.
Admission Open House:
An Open House for prospective parents was
held on November 8, 2007. If you were unable to attend
the Open House, feel free to contact the school for information
or to set up a tour.
