TPS CHESS PLAYERS ARE
WINNERS!
Stop by the trophy case outside the gymnasium to see
the HUGE trophy brought home by TPS chess
players who participated in the National Elementary
(K-6) School Championship, which was held in Denver on
May 12 to 14, 2006.
Congratulations
to first graders Alejandro Budejen-Jerez, Sanjana Friedman,
Ben Kenney, and Zack Zeelander for coming in 12th in
the country in the K-1 group; they were joined by Elliott
Bullen, Maris Doherty, Ace England, Vijay Friedman, Defne

tied for 22nd. Vijay won an individual trophy for
winning 5 out of 7 games, and he was placed 30th in the

Congratulations to all! And thank you to coach Ross Colby
and to the parents who have been so supportive of our
